Del Black has woven a rich tapestry of musical experiences throughout his diverse singing career. Starting as a guitar-playing folk singer-songwriter during his university days, Del initially balanced his passion for music with a successful career in aviation. However, a move to Yorkshire after his wedding and the birth of his son saw a temporary shift in focus. During this time, Del formed the duo The Will Black to perform Country and Western music at Working Men’s and Miner’s Welfare clubs. While these gigs often filled the time between Bingo games, they helped him keep his passion for performance alive.

His musical journey took a turn after relocating back to the South, where Del fulfilled a long-held dream of learning to tap dance. His natural talent quickly landed him roles in local pantomimes and musicals, fostering a lifelong love for show tunes. Del’s big break came when he won a local talent show with a memorable performance of Barry Manilow’s "I Write the Songs." This victory led to a two-year stint as the frontman for a Big Band, performing Swing era classics—a highlight of his career.

Del later joined Vegas Nights, a Rat Pack-style trio, playing a variety of venues from pubs to village fetes. Despite a couple of lighthearted attempts at Britain's Got Talent, Del's focus shifted to choir singing, where he found inspiration under the leadership of an exceptional choir master. Performing across Surrey, Sussex, and London, Del’s love for harmony work flourished, though his passion for solo performance remained strong.

Now based in Bedfordshire, Del has fulfilled yet another dream—becoming a busker. His love for connecting with audiences shines through in every performance, and his eclectic musical background makes each show a unique experience.

Join Del Black for an unforgettable live performance at Midsummer Place, live on Horizon Radio.
