Northampton's FA Cup tie against Kettering chosen for live TV broadcast

Northampton Town’s FA Cup First Round tie against Kettering Town at Sixfields has been selected for live TV broadcast.

The Cobblers’ context against the Poppies has been one of five FA Cup ties chosen for live TV broadcast, with the game to be shown live on BBC Two on Saturday November 2nd as a 5:30pm kick-off.

The Northamptonshire Derby is the first meeting of the two sides since 1989, when Northampton won an FA Cup held tie at Kettering.

Four other games were chosen for live TV broadcast, with the BBC also showing a tie between Tamworth and Huddersfield Town, while the Sutton v Birmingham City, Harrogate v Wrexham and Chesham v Lincoln ties will be broadcast on Sunday and Monday by ITV.

To reach it, the Poppies made it through four qualifying rounds. They beat Stafford Rangers 2-1 at home, Cleethorpes Town 1-0 at home, St Ives Town 3-0 away from home and then finally booked their place in the FA Cup proper with a 2-1 away win at Farsley Celtic on Saturday.

Northampton Town have confirmed home end tickets will go on sale from 12pm tomorrow (18/10),with season ticket holder seats to be held until 5pm on Friday October 25th and any unpurchased seats then released for sale. Full details are available through the Cobblers’ website.
