Former MK Dons midfielder Tom Carroll has signed a short-term deal to join League One outfit Reading.
The 32-year-old has signed a short term deal to play the rest of the campaign with the Royals, with the move subject to EFL clearance.
Carroll was available after being released by MK Dons on transfer deadline day, with the midfielder one of three players released on the final day of the window alongside Matt Dennis and Joe Pritchard.
After joining MK Dons from Exeter in the summer transfer window, Carroll made 16 first team appearances, but the former Spurs, Swansea, Aston Villa and Ipswich man struggled for game time following the departure of Mike Williamson in September.
Reading manager Noel Hunt told the club’s official website that he was pleased to bring him to the club.
He said, “We’re delighted to bring in a player of Tom’s experience into the building to bolster our options in the final stages of the season.
He’s someone who has played a huge number of games across the EFL and Premier League, and as a person he is just the kind of character we are looking to recruit into our squad.”
