Brackley Town will host Braintree Town in the First Round of the FA Cup if they can defeat Hartlepool United in a replay.
If the Saints can beat the side from the North East in an FA Cup replay tomorrow (15/10), their reward will be a side that, like Hartlepool, currently compete in the National League, with the winners facing a home tie.
The tie will be held at either Hartlepool’s Victoria Park or Brackley’s St James Park on the weekend around Saturday November 2nd 2024, with a specific date and kick-off time to be announced in due course.
Before either side can prepare to take on The Iron at home, Brackley and Hartlepool will first face off in a replay in Northamptonshire after their initial meeting finished 1-1 in the North East on Saturday (12/10).
Any meeting with Braintree would be the second year in a row facing them for Brackley, who were beaten by Braintree in last season’s FA Cup in the qualifying rounds after losing 3-2 despite being 2-0 up.
Having won promotion to the National League via the National League South’s play-offs last season, Braintree entered the FA Cup in the final qualifying round, with the side from Essex booking their place in the First Round through a 1-0’s win over Bishop Stortford.
